About this policy

This policy explains data handling for the SVG to PNG converter at topng.app. The tool is free to use and converted PNGs are free for commercial use. Source-file permissions are explained in our Terms of Service.

Your SVGs and converted PNGs

File selection, previews, background processing, PNG rendering and ZIP creation happen locally in your browser. Selecting a file does not upload its contents to our servers.

The converter does not create a server-side library or backup of your artwork. Downloaded files stay wherever you save them on your device. ToPNG cannot recover a result after you leave the page. You do not need to provide an account, payment details or an email address to convert files.

Local conversion is separate from visiting the website: loading the site still involves ordinary network requests.

Website access and technical data

ToPNG is hosted on Cloudflare. Serving the site and maintaining its security can involve processing request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, timestamps and error details. This information supports website delivery, troubleshooting and protection against abuse. It does not require uploading your SVG or PNG contents.

Preferences and analytics

The language switcher can store a locale cookie, and the theme switcher stores your display preference in browser local storage. See our Cookie Policy for their purpose and duration.

When a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured for the live site, ToPNG loads Google Analytics to understand visits and usage. Analytics can process information such as page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, and interactions, and may use cookies. The converter does not send SVG contents or generated PNG files to analytics.

Google handles analytics data under its Privacy Policy. Website analytics and hosting data may be processed in countries other than your own.

Messages you send us

If you contact us voluntarily, we receive the details and message you send and use them to respond. Do not send confidential artwork unless it is needed for your request. Sending a file by email is separate from the local conversion process.

Retention and your choices

We do not retain conversion files on our servers. The language cookie has a configured lifetime of one year; theme preferences remain until you change them or clear browser storage. Technical logs, analytics records and correspondence have separate retention periods based on the relevant service settings and operational needs.

You can delete cookies and site storage in your browser, use browser privacy tools to limit analytics, and contact us with privacy questions or requests concerning information you have sent us. Requests will be handled as required by applicable law. We cannot retrieve or delete copies stored only on your device.
