SVG to high definition PNG: choose the right resolution

For a sharp PNG, render your SVG at the pixel dimensions you need instead of enlarging a small PNG afterward. A 512 × 512 SVG exported at 2× produces a 1024 × 1024 PNG; at 3×, it produces 1536 × 1536 pixels. Use a custom width for an exact size, up to 4096 pixels per side. Height adjusts automatically to preserve the aspect ratio.

High resolution and transparency work together: use the same background settings at any export size. Vector paths render at the chosen resolution, but embedded raster images remain limited by their source detail. For consistent results, embed images and convert text to outlines before exporting your SVG.

Can I use the converted PNGs for free?

Yes. Convert as many SVGs as you like for free, with no signup. The PNGs are also free for commercial use, as long as you have commercial-use rights to the original SVG. Any attribution requirements in the source license still apply.

How do I convert SVG to transparent PNG?

Choose your SVG, enable Remove detected background if a background is found, then select an output size and click Convert. Download the PNG when it is ready. Existing transparent areas are preserved.

How do I convert SVG to high definition PNG?

Choose 2× or 3×, or enter a custom width. ToPNG renders the SVG at the chosen resolution and keeps its original proportions. Each side can be up to 4096 pixels.

Why does my SVG have a white background?

A white rectangle or background style may be part of the SVG itself. ToPNG detects inline backgrounds and simple full-canvas rectangles behind the artwork. Backgrounds made from complex paths or transformed groups may need to be removed in a vector editor.

Can I export multiple PNG sizes at once?

Yes. Select the sizes you need before converting. You can download individual PNGs or save all files and sizes in one ZIP. When more than 10 PNGs are generated, only ZIP download is available.

Is the SVG to PNG converter private?

Yes. Your SVGs and generated PNGs are processed locally in your browser. The converter does not upload their contents to a server.

Does it work on a phone?

Will fonts and embedded images look the same?

For consistent results, convert text to outlines and embed images in your design app before saving the SVG. External images and embedded HTML are not supported. Embedded raster images keep their original level of detail, even when exported at a larger size.
